Which rods for welding frame

I'm going to be doing some frame mounts for my 4BT soon, just wondering what a good rod would be. This is an old skool Lincoln stick welder.

Well don, what do you recommend? I thought welding rods where the only thing you can use in a stick welder??

7018.. 1/8" 7018 root pass, 5/16" 7018 low, then center cover pass... Metal temp should be kept at or above 250 interpass temp..

Im a big 7018 fan and would recomend it. If you had a decent size mig welder it would be fine too.

90 freightshaker, 3406a , 13 speed, um...it was cheap

All I have is this Lincoln welder. I do have a ton of 1/8" 7018.

I am no professional welder by any stretch, but I have never had any of my hitches, pulling rings, bump stops, trailers, etc. break to date. I use 7018 for everything. I am sure it's not by the book, but it works for me.

I have a Miller Bobcat 225G Plus with an Onan.

I'm no pro welder either, but I've had this welder since 1995. I made a winch bumper for my Jeep Cherokee with 7024 so it would look perdy, and welded a 76 dodge colt wagon to an 83 S10 frame with 6013.
