DTC po401

Need help still trying to understand more about diesels...

I keep getting this code dtc po401, Ive seen you guys say its the egr insuffecient flow. Somebody said get a EFI Live ????
Can someone explain what really is going on, and what an EFI live is and maybe tell me where this EGR is and what it looks like.

Greatly appreciate any info and help THANKS !!!

straight piping or just flat out blocking the egr valve off will throw that code, i just ignore it for now... lol

We need a little more info on what you have done to your truck, just even specifics about your truck

EGR system is located on the passenger side top of the engine, near the firewall, you can delete the entire system (RIPMF666 can sell you a EGR delete kit), i have my EGR blocked off

EFI Live is the ultimate tuning device for the duramax, you can change almost any parameter dealing with the amount of fuel being injected, injection timing, boost levels.... and even egr function, www.efilive.com
EFI live is not for anyone who is inexperienced with computers, or diesel engines, there are vendors who will sell you the tuner with custom tunes to start you out

If you don't want to go with EFI Live, you can install a finger stick. Not sure who sells them though......
