I would look into PPE tuner for a good starter tuner . You can start with a standard with 3 tunes . Then later upgrade to hotter tunes . You need the transmission beefed up for the bigger tunes . Yes block off egr . You get the code cleared automatically with the ppe tuner . And all the other things it does . Tire size , MPH limiter , scan mode , code clearing . Pretty trouble free product . There are many other decent tuners , but this would be my choice to get easy to use power that is reliable and good tuning . I still use it after 4 years .

Later you would step up to EFI Live when you are ready to play with your own tuning . Id start with a hand held tuner . Later even with using EFI you will still use your ppe for easy code reading and clearing . Much easier than hooking up your laptop while driving .

Good Luck with the truck on whatever you choose . Many to choose from .

the lbz is a bad piece of equipment in the right hands...

Also for the transmission, i would look into Suncoast, a stage 3(up to 500hp) or stage 4(500hp and up) kit will do for a lot of power, the Stage 5 transmission is for the guys who have 800hp or more...

and a free mod is the PPE airbox mod, if you do buy a PPE tuner you will get instructions with it on how to modify the stock airbox to flow ALOT better than stock....
