My brother has an '05 and it has trouble starting. If it sits all night, it won't start in the morning unless he primes it. After several tries, it starts and runs fine all day. Is it a fuel pump issue? Fuel filters changed about 1000mi ago. No service lights are on. Thanks in advance.
Could very well be the filter O-rings aren't sealing correctly. Sometimes they slip when the filter is being tightened. Have him loosen the filter, check the o-rings, and reinstall. Make sure to check the WIF o-ring too.
Also, make sure the bleeder valve is tight after you initially bleed the system. Just dont over tighten it, as its plastic.
This is the plastic screw with flat blade adjustement. I am not sure, but I thought this had an o-ring also. This is what I would look at if there is no fuel leaking.
Thanks everyone for your help. I checked his truck today and found fuel on the bottom of the WIF sensor near the wires. Possible got cracked when the service shop replaced the filter? (they took it off with channel locks) I didn't see any fuel anywhere else. I took the filter off (that's a tight fit) and the o-ring was stretched. I went on and replaced both the filter and WIF sensor and so far so good.

His truck started this morning perfectly! Thanks again.
