Tow/haul switch

Any info on how to remove the tow/haul switch from the shifter and any ideas where to get a new one other than the dealer would be greatly appreciated..... thanks in advance.

I'm curious, why would you want to get rid of the switch?

it doesn't work and I think there is a broken wire in there somewhere so need to either take it apart or get a new one. I don't have a little ring on the end, it looks like it is a molded end.

I looked at mine and cant seem to find a way to take it out. Might be a way to get to it through the steering column.

Other than getting one from a dealer you could try a junk yard you might be able to find one.

Mine broke on my 01.

i had to take the bottom half of the column apart. inside you will find a orange wire coming down from teh shifter. you can see where that wire gets routed down. on mine i found that the wire was broken at one of the points where they secure the wire to the column.. I simply stripped teh wires back.. then soldered in an additional 6inches or so of new wire, and shoved everything back up in there. works great

Thanks guys for your help, ended up just taking off the top column cover and noticed the orange wire had been mashed and once I stripped the orange back and seen they used dinky 22 awg it was no wonder why it doesn't take much to loose contact. Repaired it and works like a charm. Looks like you have to replace the whole shifter if you need a new switch which only is held in by a torx screw. Thanks again guys.
