Lightbulb 2001 duramax 6.6 4x4

this truck is a buddy of mine and they went to work ran out fine went to leave and wouldnt start they used eather and it fired but then died so ok so no fuel i get that they had the injection pump changed a year ago if u pump up the primer it gets hard then after a while it bleeds off about 2 mins and pump it up and turned it over and no fire no smoke new to diesel work so any answers would be great

I wouldn't use ether again.

If you are just pumping the primer pump and not turning the bleeder it should firm almost instantly. The pressure will back down, though.

If it's already had a new CP3 I would guess something else in the fuel system isn't working.

Could be a cracked fuel line/bleed screw letting air into the system. For sure don't use ether again.
