Advice for my 04 Duramx

I want too upgrade my exhaust on my 04 Duramax it has factory stock on it now. Looking for this to help with fuel mileage. Not looking for sound just what is the best. What size do I need and what kind muffler. I was told too cut the muffler off and that would make a huge difference .. just didn't sound right too me any suggestion?
Thanks T Graddy

magnaflow 4" pro series, you can get it for a pretty reasonable price, and its all stainless steel

and on the LB7 you want a muffler, straight piped they will drone pretty badly at highway speeds, it might get you a gain of 1 or 2 mpg but that all depends on how you drive, the best bang for your buck when it comes to an increase in mileage is a tuner

I like the MBRP 4" downpipe back. You could cut the cat and muffler and put flex pipe in but it's no replacement for an exhaust system.
