EGT gauge stuck?

Tonight on the freeway my EGT was bouncing all over the place and then it stuck at 800. It worked fine all yesterday and all day today. There are no loose connections, ground is good, any ideas on what this could be? Maybe not letting the gauge orient when I started my truck quickly? HELPPPPP

Maybe check to see if the pyro wire was accidentally shorting against something? You do state you were "bouncing all over the place"...

What do you mean shorting against something? It works normally intermitantly, but then tends to stick at one temperature. The odd part is that it worked normally for two days or so.

The thing is though that mine worked for a few days prior to it going crazy. Now the gauge is totally unresponsive, and my vendor said that its most likely the gauge if the needle isnt moving and once was, so theyre sending me a new one. Do you mean the pyro was bad or you hooked it up incorrectly?

Now my gauge doesnt even move at all. The needle bounces like it wants to move, but it just wont, which makes me think its the gauge. It kind of slowly just puked out, and I think its the stepper motor. Hopefully my new egt comes soon because I want to crank up my quadzilla
