Veg oil and warranties

I have a friend that is gonna do some diesel conversion. (on an LB7) With veg oil. He is not making any changes to his truck. He is doing all of the filtering through poly tanks etc.. Does any body know if this will void anything?:smoke

Veggie oil will void any and all warrenties. GM authorizes the use of LSD, ULSD and biodiesel up to B5. Use of any other fuels will void any warrenties that may be remaining on said vehicle.

Plus it is just a bad idea, I ran it in my old 99 with the 6.5 IDI and it ruined a IP in less than two months! He needs to filter all of the glycerin out of the oil and be sure it is free of all water!

You think that sounds scary, try explaining to my pregnant GF at the time that our only vehicle was broken down cause I was too cheap to pay for some fuel , I got chewed for a month on that deal. Took two weeks to get the truck fixed! The veggie oil needs to be processed into Bio-diesel through a conversion process. This is the only way to ensure it is done right.

I would tell your friend to stay away from that stuff, Cumminspride and myself both have suffered from the use of veggie oil. The loss of the vehicle for up to two weeks and high repair bills are no fun!

I recommend searching for a bio-diesel processor he can buy or find a good DIY style. Either kind can make fuel for around $1 a gallon.
