wire broke on injector

recieved a call from the dealer today saying the post on a injector broke off, causing my problem p0201 p1261, had injectors replaced 75000 miles ago , 1100.00 to fix . no warranty. hard to believe that all of a sudden a wire breaks.

600.00 labor , 473.00 for injector, refunded for core, then misc total alittle over 1100.00

I don't get that? The injectors we got from GM were around or close to $220.00, yes the labor was high and I agree with that, the have to replace the banjo bolts on there and that takes a bit, plus trying to realign the lines.......without kinks.

$473.00 sounds too expensive for a single injector, heck the POS 6.0L powerstroke injectors are cheaper than that.

Thats what dealers charge for them. Dealer price = rip off.

Bruce, that almost sounds like someone tightened a nut too much when installing the wiring during the replacement.

That still seems high considering my expericen with them, but that has been a while ago.

I had 4 injectors replaced a few months back and they charged me just over 200 for each injector and refunded me 100 core for each injector.

Your getting ripped on the single injector cost. The labor is pretty decent.
