Install Accurate oil gauge

I have a 2004 GMC Sierra Duramax with a 6.6L LB7 diesel. Has anyone instilled an accurate oil temperature gauge? Where on the diesel block did you screw in the temp. sensor? Did you run into any mounting problems? I am pulling a 38ft RV trailer over the mountain passes here in Colorado and I need an accurate reading gauge! Also please let me know the brand name of the gauge you would recommend.
