Extended Warranty (For a Used Dmax)

I have never owned a truck with a warranty, but I am about to purchase a Diesel and think I will get one.

I know Ford offers their ESP Warranty, which you can buy after the initial warranty is up and it is good at any Ford dealership.

Does GM offer the same type of warranty, say for instance an '02 DMax that has passed its 7 year warranty period for Injectors? Would it be possible to buy a warranty from GM?

If so has anyone done this recently, since the Bail Out, would this be something worth considering?

Thanks for your input!

I did some more digging, I guess what I was looking for is the GMPP.

I live in FL. so according to a GMPP website :

I am a Florida resident, why can't I purchase a GMPP Extended Warranty from your website?

There are regulations in place that pertain specifically to resident's of Florida. Florida resident's are required to purchase the GM Protection Plan at what is called the mandatory retail price or MRP. This is a set price that cannot be discounted and can be purchased at your local Florida GM dealer.

I've heard good things and bad things about doing that. I would talk to the Service manager that you plan on taking your truck to, NOT a salesman.

Life changes, so roll with it, not against it.

Sound advice, I try to avoid Salesman at all cost anyway!

Thanks
