new to chevys

i found an 2003 d-max, with an allison, 45000 miles, clean interior, 4x4 with a lift going for 25500, i was wondering if this is a good price, for this truck and if there is anything i should be looking for in these trucks or if there were any problems this year truck had, i was a ford guy but got tired of it dying all the time, so im lookign for an upgrade, so a chevy would be entirely new system for me, where should i start with the upgrades, what is the best tuner for these trucks, who builds good transmissions, so on and so forth, thanks for any help

I don't know about problems on this year but I can help with the other stuff. The best tuner for the Duramax is EFI Live, Suncoast makes killer Allison upgrades and transmissions. Since it's a lifted truck, make sure it has tie rod sleeves and center link kit. I think $25500 is a little high for a 2003.

I second the Suncoast trans and EFI Live...I paid $27,000 two years ago for my '03 with 44,444 on the clock. Prices will vary based on location.....

Injectors are one of the main problems with the LB7, gm has a 200,000mile, 7 year warranty on them i believe, girlfriends dad has had one whole set replaced on his already, and cracked two while replacing the headgaskets, they are very prone to cracking

that price is too high for the year and mileage, i bought my 06 for $28,000canadian with 70,000miles on the clock, i would say $17-18,000 depending on options, definitely not $25,500

post the vin in the vin check section and see what comes back, it ususally takes a day or two before you get any info back, but is sure worth the little extra effort

I think that price is just a little high. Even though it is low mileage it is older. You would probley be better to look for something a little newer and pay about the same money.

you could get an 06-07 with 60,000-70,000 miles for that price

I'd offer $20K for a really, and I mean really, clean LT CC/SB. $25,500 is too high. If it's a dealer you have plenty of room to argue.

Like others have suggested post the VIN and request it checked.
