A few questions

Hey guys im just curious as to stuff like how far can you push the stock turbo on these LB7's and how many miles you guys have on yours. Im asking questions becuase i found a 2001 with 169k on it and i dont know that much about these trucks. Also are there any major problems with thi 6 speed manuals?

the 6-speed manuals are pretty bullet proof as i understand it, as for reliability, i know of a few duramaxes that have over 200k miles on them and are still going strong

The turbos on these trucks are pretty rugged. They can handle 30PSI not problem, but when you get to 40ish, your asking for problems. As far as the truck your checking out, take it for a spin and see how it does. Check the normal things you would with any truck, and see what you find. 169K is nothing for a truck thats been taken care of.

Your so right, a well maintained duramax should last 300k-400k with no problems the injectors have a bad habit of cracking and pouring fuel into the crank case, but gm has an injectory warranty that is 200k miles or 7 years, so the best lb7 to be buying is an 04 with low miles but i would post up the VIN # here in the vin check section and see what comes back, you can find out the entire warranty info of the truck, as well as all options that came with it

there's nothing wrong with looking, i spent 6 months or better scouring all the used vehicle resources for the right truck before i found mine, i drove 2 hours just to look at it, ran the vin, and it came back clean so i jumpped all over it and i haven't been at all dissapointed, its a great truck, so it seems that in my experience, if you find a truck that you really like, then its something that you will always enjoy to drive, and that really holds true, ive had my truck for 10 months and i have loved every minute of it

Be sure to look around. Just don't jump too soon. I looked for about 6 months myself. I even flew out to look at the one that I have now. Even had my dad meet me there to look at it too. After a few hours of lookin, drivin it was mine. With 13 hours to home. Alot of the reason I bought this one other than price was the originial owner that was selling it. He had all the paper work of maintance from day one. It hadn't been a disappointment.

If it appears to have been taken care of get it! The lb7 with the 6 speed is hard to find, and I love mine! 110k and has been tuned for 60k of that running 34psi.

The LB7 didn't come with the 6 speed, though there are kits that allow you to make your 5 speed into a 6 speed. That's more than likely what you have.

He has the 6 speed manual, not the automatic.
