duramax engine life?

who has more than 300k?
when is a duramax supposed to be replaced, or what is service life.

a guy wants to sell me a 03 c4500 with 300k, it is cheap but i am skeptical.

IF engine does quit, is the pickup version compatible in the medium duty chassis?

Hey Henry, you forgot.

If one is skilled with sawzall and welder, one can fabricate the motor mounts when they dont have the correct block for their 4500. I am not going to throw out any names, most of us know who I speak of.

You never know. I am sure Johnny woulda taken a lot longer if not given up if he didnt have a certain friend or two around constantly to help keep morale high!

I am sure anyone who happens to make a mistake like this/how he did, and have the motor completely ready, only to find their fresh built motor dont mount right, would be willing to solve the problem as he did- they werent that hard to make, just a few fitment tests and measurements-

When he gets back from Bonneville, I will tell him of this thread, and see if he can post some pics of the custom mounts in here-
