oil pressure swit happench

Hello

I have a problem with an 03 GMC that I need some help with. It has an intermittent loss of oil pressure on the guage, when coming up to a stop light it goes down into the red, pull over and check oil level - OK, restart the truck and all is fine. When it happened previously the oil pressure switch was changed (ouch), wiring checked, and connector pin tension is good. After the switch was changed, all was well for vacation, 13,000 KM and 28 days, get home and a week later it happened, checked the oil pressure again with a guage and was above spec, wiring still good.

Anyone come across this problem ?

I had the exact same problem when I first bought my truck. Brought it to the dealership and they checked it out as ok. Hasnt done it since. They told me that sometimes the guage gets thrown off from age. I still dont know what caused it.

Out of curiousity, what weight oil and what kind of filter are you using?
