03 Lb7 allison..how much hp on stock trans

How much HP over stock can I go on the stock allison? Would a crazy larry be too much? how much $ for a efi live with a good tune?

Generally its 100HP over stock. Some get away with more, some get away with less. Generally 100 is it.

115 was too much for mine. Run it on the 90hp setting for now.

0 hp over stock will make it last the longest....
i wouldnt go past 80hp in order to keep it together for a while

crazy larry is terrible tuning especially on the dmax, EFI LIVE is about $800, and most shops that will sell it to you offer it with a free tune

I was thinking about getting the hypertech out of the parts section and leaving it on high...its like 113hp or w/e. Trucks a 03 dmax ext cab, its maroon with the allison, 4x4 just put on 285 BFG a/t's... 156k miles new injectors/water pump.

Buy EFI from a decent vendor and just run a small tow tune til you get the money to build the trans.

With my Diablo Predator I limped my tranny with the 120 tune. Now I just run it on the 65 Economy and the occasional 85 and have not had any trouble.
