Injectors again?

My 03 has 140k on it....all 8 injectors were replaced under warranty at 89k miles Now i got 3 out again. I have a PPE Excelerator on it 225hp max I usually daily drive on 180hp tune. Have a built tranny just curious to why injectors took a sh*t or is it something I did. Have stacked an Edge Juice with Attitude on it once for a local memorial drag race. Any ideas or just bad injectors?

well the reason the injectors go is because the injector bodies actually crack, causing fuel to dump down the cylinders, as well as in the valve covers mixing with the motor oil

as far as i have gathered the injectors are just inherently weak and crack on their own accord, however i highly recommend that you never "stack" the edge on your truck again, the edge runs injection timing, and the PPE will as well unless you turn it off, these trucks dont like a whole lot of timing on a stock engine, and the LB7 injectors aren't strong

the edge is an "inline tuner" and what it does is interrupt the injectors signals before they reach the ecm, alter the the signal and fool the ECM into providing more fuel and injection timing

the PPE is a "programmer" and it actually changes the ECM programming itself so as to provide your with your extra fuel and timing

so when you run them together you already have an agressive tune in the ECM from the PPE, and then the Edge is sending false signals to the ECM that its still "stock" even tho its modified, so you have both tunes doing two different things

that could be why your injectors took a chit

I take it your injector changeout was about 3 years ago, based on the mileage? If so, they had not yet switched to the new-style hardened ball/seat, which may finally help the problems.

Cracked bodies were a big issue on the earliest sets (01/02), but not so much on later years (03/04). I think that was one of the first things Bosch had to change was their metallurgy on the bodies.

Pennsacola did alright when they started out, but their reputation has been taking a lot of hits lately. People will install 8 and have 4 out of spec, right out of the box. Its almost as if Pennsacola doesnt even test the injectors before they leave the building. I wouldnt use them.
