wont start at all

well ive used the search on this forum in the past for fixing my old 7.3 truck and now my 96 chevy 6.5. Time to start posting and see if i can find some more answers.

I have a 96 2500 6.5 diesel. I parked the truck 2 months ago because of fuel prices and i had a 2 door saturn I can buzz around in when not towing.

I would start the truck every 2 weeks and let it run for an hour just to keep things moving and such. I live in michigan so its friggin cold out also. Every time i went outside it fired right up with no problems.

Last week i went out and it would not start. cranked over fine but would not start. I opened the "t" valve and fuel pours out. I thought maybe it had gelled. I replaced the PMD last winter with a remote one. Any ideas where to start folks? should i check the glow plugs. just make sure they are getting power. I can hear a pump running when i turn the key forward. is that the fuel pump and not the lift pump? Should I check that also for power?

thanks for any help !!:smoke

the cranking speed seems pretty good. Ive got in on a constant trickle charge right now. So with the key forward I should have 12v at the glow plug socket? whats the best way to check the glow plugs. can u buy just one glow plug? a freind of mine got a trade in at his dealership last year and the vehicle had 7 brand new glow plugs for my truck in it. hoping i can just buy one and replace them all.

thanks for the quick response !!

well i spent the day digging and winching out the chevy and got it into the garage to start diagnosing whats wrong. the lift pump seems to be working. it makes noise and shoots fuel out when i open the t-handle. but then i found this. this cant be good. went to check the connectors on the glow plugs and this was just laying there. Apparently they just rusted right in half at the connector.
