tranny for 76 C65 with 427 engine

Does anyone know what trannys will fit a 76 C65 chevy truck with a 427 engine? It has a New Process 7590 5 sp which seems to be scarce along with parts to rebuild it. We have found several 5 spds but they are hooked up to 366s and seem to be different.
Any thoughts?

Been quite a few years since i delt with the medium gasser's, as i recalled the 427 and 366 shared the same block.. Either way i would believe what worked behind one, would the other also.. I have seen a 366 in a 1ton chevy, early 80's model, and also a 427 in a early 80's chevy one ton.. Both were hooked to the 465 4spd tranny that gm used in it's pickups..

Thanks for the reply.

We have found several 5 spds that probably would bolt up.The issue here for us is that our bell housing is quite shallow compared to the ones we have found hooked up to the 366s and we are concerned that the input shaft is longer than what we have. If we use a different bell housing it would move the shift lever too far back and might interfere with the hydraulics that we have in this unit. Most of the 5 spds that we have seen have the granny 1st, rather than the regular 1st gear. We're not sure about the tranny mounts.
