Get a Tekonsha Prodigy with the optional cable harness and you'll have no need for the wiring diagram. Just plugs into the connector box under the dash. And it works great.

tekonsha is good, your 06 should have come w/a wiriing harness plugs into the fuse panel by yoru feet. if not you can order that harness from tekonsha. Prodigy is good

1996 Gmc k2500 4x4 6.5 turbo diesel, with mods Blew the head gasket, put all new heads, valves, injecotrs gaskets etc on the truck only to get it together and find out it had no oil pressure, and sounded horrible (pry a spun bearing). SOLD

ya that harness is sitting in the glove box, so its prewired but has no controler? as you can tell im new to this. Im used to the standard 4 prong trailer hookups with no provisions for brakes.

oh ya thank you!

The harness that is in the glove box will plug in by your feet by your left foot. You will also have to pull the cover off the fuse box on the drivers side (by the fire wall) and install a 30amp fuse there. There maybe a red "dummy" plastic fake fuse installed in there now. That will recharge the trailer battery (for electric brakes). The harness that plugs in will then have to be wired into your brake controller. just use but connectors and shrink wrap. I used double sided tape and stuck it under the dash.
