Smile 08 Dura/Ally 3500 Factory install 4X4 Van

Hello,
My F.D. is looking for a new ambulance. The sales man came with a 07 6.0 Ford. We said we wanted a Chevy but vans don't come with a Alison. He said this June, 3500 vans will have a dura max, an Alison and the factory 4X4 option. Anyone got a lead on this or is it his wet dream?

Thanks
Brian

That would make sense, can't understand why GM hasn't done it other than packaging. The allison is bigger than the Ford tranny and needs more room. I hope it's true. GM is so slow to move & make changes. That needs to change, too.

Hey Duke,
Ford has shot itself in the foot again, by not having it's new engine in it's new van. I can't understand why a Chevy van doesn't have an Alison tranny.

Question The end of the world as we know it.

Different salesman last night. He said 3500 Dura max, no alison, no factory 4X4, duel rear wheel 14,200 GVW cut away is the new chevy in april. Then he said chevy sold it's medium trucks to ford. Holy crap! Any word here?

You need to walk, no RUN from your "salesman".

GM sold it's medium truck division to International, not Ford. IH will build GM's mediums for them.

From what I'm hearing the 4500/5500 will continue to get the same drivetrain. It's the 6500/7500 series that will be given over to IH for production, but information is mostly rumor, so stay tuned.

DoOver's dealer is an idiot for telling him GM sold its' MD division to ford.

BTW: Ford's 650 & 750 series have been made by IH for a few years now.

Duke, that's because he's an ambulance sales man. Also it seems to me there is some much going on right now, most is rumor. It hard to seperate the wheat from the chaff.
