Help

Im swaping a 5.3 in s 2000 chevy silverrodo 4X4 What were they thinking, How do you get to the 2 upper Bellhousing bolts? I removed the intake plenam to get the old enging out but I really didnt want to take the intake plenam off a new engine to install it. is there a way around this?
Please help asap Thanks Dave

can you use a very long extension and go up from underneath? That;s usually the best way to get those PITAs on most vehicles.

what I did was set the engine in and bolt it to the bell with the 6 bottom bolts then later once the engine mounts were bolted up I removed the tranny mount and lower the tail end of the tranny down and it gave just enough room to get up to the bolt at 10 Oclock and i got the 12Oclock one from up top. I wouldnt want to try this job without a lift in the shop.

I cut holes in the floor and put conduit plugs in them, just pull the carpet back and use the right size hole saw. Inch and a quarter conduit is about 1 1/2 in dia hole and the plugs are about $1.60 a pair.
