Inbed Diesel Tank Made Primary??

1st I want to say hey to everyone and state that I'm new to the forum. Now the reason for the topic... I'm wanting to completely remove my factory diesel tank all together and make a inbed "aux" tank my primary. I was told my American Tank that this was possible and common. I was even told by them that with hookin' up a few wires that the factory fuel gauge would even read correct to the new inbed tank.

Question 1. Is this done often and how easily can this been done?
Question 2. Can any aux tank be used to do this?
Question 3. Fuel pump in the aux tank be able to push the needed fuel?

This is to be done in a LLY d-max w/ edge attitude, intake, exhaust, and boost controller. I used the search option on the site b4 posting this and was not able to find anything about doing this.

Welcome to the site. I can not answer your question, but can give some opinions. I would say if you talked to this company, they have a specific tank in mind. It would have to accomodate the factory fuel sending unit/pump assembly. Also in order to be accurate it would have to meet a certain height requirement. The sending unit tells fuel levels by the amount it drops over "X" distance. If your tank is much taller than the sending unit, your gausge will show empty when you actually may have quite a bit of fuel left. You can't really go shorter for obvious reasons. Hope this helps.
