Need opinions on which way to go
New to diesels, new to conversions
I have a '96 GMC 3500 Dually, currently running a 7.4L gasser.
I'm thinking of swapping it with a 6.5 turbo diesel.
Here's my question. I have a line on a '94 Chevy 3500 dually diesel with 111,070 miles on it for around $9000.00 (CAD). It's in awesome shape and I really like the low mileage. Should I convert my current truck to diesel, or am I way ahead of the game buying the other truck? My truck has a 10' flat deck that I use to haul material (yet another reason that a diesel makes sense) I would swap over to the other truck , so I'm not tied to my current truck for any sentimental reasons. Based on what I've been reading on this site, converting my truck could cost me about the same anyways. What should I be concerned with with the '94? Are there any obvious issues I would be able to pick out on a visual inspection or on a test drive?
Thanks to everyone who responds.
