wanted to buy dmax

Hey guys, My son in law is looking for a 01-07 Dmax classic, Anybody selling or know of someone who is? preferably decent mileage and with a solid body. Also, anything to watch out for when buying one of these?

04 Silverado 2500HD LB7/Allison, EFI live by duramaxtuner.com with DSP5, 4" MBRP turbo back straight pipe, polished 5" tip, 5% tint, riding on 285 fierce attitudes, many more mods....

I'd look on AutoTrader or Cars.com. They are out there.

Best bet is to find one you like and have the VIN run at a dealer for the truck's service history. This is like the Oasis reports that you Ford guys get.

01-04 LB7 have issues with injectors, but they are covered 7yr/200,000 miles. That may eliminate the 01-02s for you. 01's also had headgasket issues. This was addressed in the 02 model year.

04-05 LLYs can sometimes have overheating issues. This has been addressed by a couple aftermarket people, including killerbee, who is a S/V here.

06-07 LBZ Only issue I know of so far is the tranny likes leak. GM changed the design of the lines, whoops.

he ended up not finding anything anywhere for less then 24-25k so he got a 01 8.1/allison ec/sb 4x4 with 101k miles for 8100 bucks with a set of brand new 285s on it. month later a 03 dmax pops up for 12,500 on local lot..haha oh well, luck of the draw.
