GMC Big Block engine data:

They claim the 1973 379-V6 made:
170hp @ 3600 rpm.
266tq @ 1600 rpm.

My 1962 379M-V6 Dynod:
175hp @ 3,400rpm.
388tq @ 1,800rpm.

Why the big power difference from 1962 to 1973 ?

Directement environ 1973 ils ont vraiment changé l'évaluation de cheval-vapeur de l'évaluation de cheval-vapeur brute pour rapporter(empocher) le cheval-vapeur évaluant cela visse vraiment en haut peu de numéros(nombres).

Le cheval-vapeur net utilisera des figures(chiffres) d'HP réelles par monté en haut le transmmison, le supporter(ventilateur), l'alternateur sur, etc

Right about 1973 they did change the horsepower rating from gross horsepower rating to net horsepower rating that really screw up few numbers.

The net HP will use actual horsepower figures by mounted up the transmmison , fan , alternator on , etc

Well it sure out tows the 6.5-T by a lot. . .
Prolly cause the 95' 6.5er is a 9K GVWR truck and the 62' 379M is a 14K GVWR truck . . .
