lift

Trucks almost mine. Time to think about lift/tires. Probably 6" or so. Still used everyday for work so not to tall. Who makes the best? Knuckle kit or spindle? Been checkin on them range from 1200 to 2500+ so big spread there. Any suggestions? Like to run 33's or 35's.

If all you want is to run 35's just find the right wheels and maybe do a bit of bumper/fender trimming. H2 wheels seem to work really well, but they only come in 17" and I wanted to stay with 16s. I have the cognito upper control arms and t-bars cranked about 2" above stock, and with the wheel I have I had to do quite a bit of trimming. If you wanna see some pics I can try and get them up tomorrow. Tahoedmax had 35's and actually lowered his suspension w/o any rubbing.

If you really want to do a full blown lift I think cognito has a great product.

I don't really care about a full blown lift. My tbars are already cranked about an inch and w/ air bags in back I still get raked stance which I like. I just want more rubber on the tar and slight lift. I load crap in and out of this truck daily so stock height is perfect but not really. Don't really want to trim anything except bumper. Here we get a lot of salt on roads in winter and trimming means fresh cuts which are hard to seal and so you get rust. i'll check out cognitos stuff though. thanks.-Neil

You might get a little more lift with the cognito UCA's, but it might work with the right wheels. 305's would have definately cleared w/o any fender mods. I know the GMC bumpers are a little closer to the wheels but I still would have had to cut mine to fit the 305's.

just want 305's on 8" rim. what do you get about 3" from just the ucas? like to not crank tbars any higher.

I didn't upgrade to the green keys since I was able to level the truck with the stockers. They are maxed out and I think it gave me about 2". The half shafts don't look to be at too extreme of an angle. If I ever upgrade axle shafts then I might go higher.
