Ive ran self tapping screw through 1/4's steel plate with a cordless drill, not sure why your so surprised, not much different than using an HSS twist bit.....

ok?

It takes a dam* good self tapper to go through 1/4 plate!!!! My point was they do not use a frame they use a piece of tin bent into a box form, and it shows!! Also it seems that with the smallest loads in the bed,the leafs springs are made from the same, reason for the load boosters! 3500GM = 1/2 ton/ Sorry but the truth! We dont have to worry about it now anyways because he traded it off with 3,000 miles,he hated it.

So you started a thread just to rip on a truck that you say is junk because you could drill a hole in it?

agreed, a piece of tin bent into a box???? sounds like you just came here to start a pissing match, and a self taping screw will go through a piece of plate steel because thats what it is designed to do, 'SELF TAP' like i said, just like using a HSS twist bit, would you expect one of those to go through a frame?

how do you figure you cant put any weight on the springs? its a 1-ton, i will bet you $100 you cant put the as heavy a load in any 1/2ton that you could into a GM 3500hd

ok

Your missing the point here, the point is that the quality of the product is falling rapidly! I was just wanting some other feed back on what people thought!? but I guess now I know! I'm still a firm believer in my first point though its just not a truck anymore! Sorry! He ordered the truck as a 09 extened cab one ton single wheel cab and chassis, the truck arrived we put a Knapheide service body on it, one toolbox, and a few steel fitting and it is sagging the as* end of it,WOW! His Fords are fine with more load in the box,and a tag trailer with a backhoe on it. Also a C channel frame is a frame! Not a mangled up Pepsi can!!!
