1998 3/4 4wd Suburban transfer case

Does anybody have any knowledge of the transfercase castings leaking (porous/ bad casting)? Possibly a link to this problem? BTW it's a big block, auto. Can get model no. if necessary. Thank you for your help!!

FYI, NP246 & 263hd the oil pump wears a hole in rear case. Case protecter before leak or after case replacement. Thank you to all that at least looked. Now we all know the answer!!

Sorry man, I just saw this. Yes, its a know problem. Its called pump rub, and it does just as you've described.

Right on. thank you. Boss sent case to a shop. My removal time was waaaaaay more,. Part was frozen bolts/nuts, lack of experience, laying on a creeper. It comes out but not easily.

Not running yet , case just went to shop. Problem is really pretty big , have read about it on two seperate chevy/GMC forums also.
