Hello..

New to the forum.

Have lots of biodiesel experience. Be happy to answer any questions the best I can.

Might end up asking a few also.

Welcome, and if you have your own biodiesel processor show us some pics. I'm still trying to sink in as much info. on making BD and hope to have a processor built in the spring. Then if you have a good source of methanol list it for us.

Yup.. picture of my processor is at the link above this posting. Thanks for putting it up Rcannon.

Its a great processor if you don't mind if I plug it!! I'm upgrading to a 500 gallon sized unit.

Anyone interested in heating with waste oil? I built (invented?) a heating unit that uses waste motor oil or veg oil as fuel to produce between 70,000 and 200,000 btu's of free heat!!

Ever since I jumped into the biodiesel, I noticed I had lots of oil around! Screw paying the gas company's with all those btu's going to waste.

Anyhow, if anyone is interested, I'm selling plans for the heater so folks can build it themselves.

I love cheap fuel!!!! Only sex is better.

My processor is listed under the For Sale section in these forums.

If you build or buy a processor system, STAY AWAY FROM PLASTIC REACTORS.. they are dangerous.

Also, buy Girl Marks book.. You can goggle "Girl Mark" and she's in Wikipedia also. She is the inventor of the home-brew process.

Check out what she had to say about my processor!!

Very nice setup. Being that I already have just about everything to put it together I really couldn't think of getting this. All I'm missing right now is time. Have the pump, three drums, 40 gallon electric water heater and all the plumbing. I also need to create a drum with a funnel bottom but still need to figure out what to use to create the funnel, probably just hammer the middle of the drum then drill it and weld a fitting on the bottom.

Don't plan on making much more than 40 gallons for a while especially since I don't even know where to get methanol cheap enough. Then it's getting enough wvo to process.

If I could one day get into making about 100 gallons a week that would be nice. I would at least run about B40 in my trucks. But I'll start off slow to get used to making it the right way.

other than the static discharge issues of plastic reactors that can be cured by simply making a grounded tank support do you have other reasons to call them dangerous? I built the Processor for the University of IL Ag Engineering dept. and had to have my design approved by the HAZMAT team and they had no problems since it was grounded.
