I'm most familiar with the 7.3PSD, but all your diesel engines will run on Bio. The 5.9 Cummins, 6.6 Duramax, and I'm sure the new 6.4PSD and the 6.7 Cummins. The stickler is that the Big 3 limit you to B5. Once you're out of warranty it doesn't matter. I've been running about 30-35% Bio for over 2 years now.

A good rule of thumb is the older the vehicle the better it runs on BioD. But ALL diesel engines can, and will, run on BioD of any blend. My Excursion and old IDI absolutely love the stuff. Quieter and smoother engine idle is the biggest bonus.

Pretty much any of the "dirty" diesels (Older than 2006) are proven to run well on BioD. No one that I've heard of has tried B100 in the 2007+ trucks yet. But, in theory is should produce less soot to clog the DPF.

so if im understanding you, anything before 2006 can run on bio? Now is that 100% or like half and half, or does that mixture also depend on the engine.

Any diesel engine can run BioD w/o problems, even the 2007. It is the emission equipment on the engines that everyone is unsure of. There's just not enough on the road yet for reports to be coming in.

And you can run B100 (100% biodesiel) in any diesel engine; it is a diesel fuel replacement.

I Herd it was smart to tween on the BioDiesel, such as not just throw in B100 right off the bat, am I correct? Such as Start at B5 and tween up to B50 and higher.

If your truck has alot of miles I would recommend one or two tanks of B50 before going straight to B100. But I went right to B100 on my IDI w/ 160k on the odo w/o a problem, but I'm pretty religious on changing my fuel filters.

so can you put half tank of diesel and half tank of b100 or does the tank have to be straight b100? O and back to my original question, what would be the best diesel for the buck?

Bio can be bought premixed, or as straight 100% in most areas. If you live in the north, during cold, I wouldnt run higher than B20, but in the summer, run 100% if you can get it. I cant get 100% around my area for some reason.

Remember, the more bio we burn, the less money in the terrorist supportive countries hands! And we are supporting the American farmer!

My vote would be for:

1. 99-03 7.3 Ford (Work Truck)
2. 97-98 5.9 Cummins (Race Truck)
3. 06-07 6.6 Duramax (Date Truck)

All will BioD just fine and #1 & #2 are good canidates for WVO conversions.
