I live in WI and drive over to MN to fill up (2% bio) because the truck runs smoother and quieter with slightly better mileage. I am having a hard time finding B100 in the Duluth, MN area, can anyone help?

Been runnin B20 in the summer and B2 in the winter, and so far 0 problems.

Tony

On edit: Thats for over two years now in my Chevy, and over three in my tow trucks. I did liose a low pressure fuel pump in my tow truck, but in its defense, The pump was the original from 95 and had almost 460K on it when it died. Other than that, the trucks have been running great, better than the crappy ULSD!

Works great for me! We finally have BD in Huntsville, AL. There's a new company building a plant with production planned to start by late this year. In the interim, they're selling B50 hauled in from Chattanooga. I get about 30-35 gallons per month at usually 5-6 cents cheaper than regular diesel.

Welcome back, btw!

Your 6.9 should be just fine- I had three of them over a few years, and they don't have trouble with biodiesel. It's possible that some rubber fuel line on the low-pressure side of the pump (ie return lines or fuel delivery lines) could go bad eventually with biodiesel (especially if it's old or dry-rotted to begin with), but I didn't see this in three years of running one of those engines on b100. They are more prone to problems on SVO because the stanodyne injection pump doesn't like higher viscosity fuels (ie if something goes wrong with your SVO system the pump can seize) but it's not a problem on biodiesel.

At least one of my 6.9 trucks had a 12v fuel heater stock befrore the filter, which meant that I got a few degrees' more usability out of the b100 in colder weather than people who don't have the heater installed. It was nice to not worry about cold as much.
