immersion heater

ok so we've been makin biodiesel in small batches and runnin it in a one lung kubota, now we want to upscale and produce enough for our club bus, it's an 8.2 detroit, (no heckling please, i know it sucks) we have all of the pump and barrels we need to mix the concoction but we need a heater to heat all of the oil and methoxide, we were thinking of an immersion heater, but we're having trouble finding one, so my question is what kind/ where do you guys find y'alls heaters? :thanks:

The most common immersion heater is a water heater electric element. They fit a 1 in pipe thread or a 4 bolt square pattern. If you hook a 220 up to 110 the watts are 1/2 the lable. Bolt an electric riser box over it for an enclosure.

by the way watch out for fuel lines degrading on that Kubota... seems particularly prone to it.
www.biodieselcommunity.org has the Appleseed water heater-based processor, you can adapt a barrel to a similar design if you can get a water heater element into the barrel. It's safer to use something with a thermostat such as a water heater.
