Diesel Energy Secret

Has anyone on here tried this? I'm always sceptical about glamorous claims, but curious. Sounds like theres no COOKING involved.

Also, how do you guys go about getting the used vegie oil, is it pre packaged or do ya have to show up at Mc D's with your own pump truck? Are you guys building your own processing facilitys or are can ya purchase a BIO making setup (tanks, pumps, filters...etc.) I'm new to diesels and at $4.08 a gal I'm lookin for options.

While I'm at it, do any of you guys use Bio (home made) in rigs with tuners and HP upgrades?

Thanx, Joe.:thanks:

I personally wouldn't put Diesel Secret in my truck. Do some searching on the internet, there are tons of posts about it out there.
As far as collecting oil it will depend on what you work out with the resturant. Some will drain it back into the 5gal plastic jugs some prefer to put it into 55gal drums.
For good info on processor kits and parts check out www.utahbio.com. They have complete kits from the basic to the cadilac ($8400 biopro that makes the process almost effortless)

Good luck

Fireball, Thanx for your reply. I agree the diesel secret SEEMS to good to be true, witch always makes me suspicious, I'll do more research.
What kind of mods does guy have to do to my truck to make BIO work, especialy in cold weather, I deal with 7 to 9 months of below 30* temps here in Ak and I'm not sure I want to install ($$$) a seperate heated tank in the bed or where ever if I don't have to. Also what about cetane, they say below 40 pts is bad, any thoughts?

Thanx, Joe.

Cetane boost can be easily added. I run Diesel Kleen. Walmart carries it and they have two versions, one is a cold weather formula.
As far as cold weather bio, I think most guys will run a blend of bio with regular petro diesel to prevent geling. If you can get a blend that will work for you without geling you shouldn't have to make any other mods to your truck.

...the infamous ol adage "snake oil". You guys are clueless! :RTFM: :hehe Ramblin on about what you 'heard' but yet never personally experiencing it for yourselves...but thats quite ok, just that much less people doing it the easy way & spending a hell of alot more $ & time the other way!

..Yeah, I felt the same way Joe....that is, until I tried it for myself. That was just about 2 years ago! Still doin it the same way & got over 63,000 miles on this 6.0l. Bottom line: IT WORKS! But, I know, the majority continue to be EXTREMELY skeptical, too afraid to FIND OUT FOR THEMSELVES, and yet also continue to sit on the "proverbial fence" & knock the hell out of something they know absolutely NOTHING about! Go figure? Opinions are just like a**holes, every one has one!...:hehe

As for the WVO, I get it from a customer of mine, who owns a Miami Subs, 4 cubes/containers, every 5 days. Works great, the owner even has his employees filter the oil from the fryer as it goes back it the containers! Cant ask for much more than that!

Thanx for the replys...

Fireball, so it sounds like cetane boost will work with BIO and PETRO both? Or is there a blend for each?
It sounds like a mix of 20/80% in the cold months is the norm (below 40*F), I assume thats 20% BIO, and 80% petro. I'd like to hear from peeps in the northern U.S./Rockies and Canadia on this subject, as much of winter here is below 0*F.

Bigblue777, I haven't writen this off just yet. I have to say your the first,to say you've actually tried diesel secret, and that it works and you like it (though I've only been here a week). I'm sure I haven't read everything there is on it from this or any other forum, BUT everything I have found was negative. That being said, none of them that I have found, gave a reason why its junk.
It seems theres two schools of thought on Diesel Secret, to those who say no way...why? :

Guy's I'm here to learn. My mind is open to all thoughts and ideas..teach me O wise ones.

Thanx again for taking the time to help, Joe.

I'm not sure what blend is going to work best for you. From what I've seen, guys are saying they have ran 100% (good quality) bio down into the high 30's. I think I'd put some in a glass jar and keep an eye on it to see if it starts geling up. Then I'd start adding petro.
As far as DS goes, if it works that's great. I've just seen far more negative posts about it than good. They also claim that the chemicals in bio are dangerous but the MSDS on the DS is pretty nasty stuff too. But none of that really bothers me all that much....look what we use now.
I'm not just interested in bio for the cost (which is big) but also because it get's me completely off petrolium diesel. If we all did it we could put the middle east back in the dark ages.

I am another user of the stuff, and I will say everyday of the week that the stuff is SNAKE OIL!!!!!!!!!!!! Stay away from it if you like your diesel engine. I burned up a injection pump and soured a set of injectors in my last truck, a 99 Chevy K3500 with a 6.5. I filtered and dewatered very well and it still ruined my IP. GM did the pump for me and they. Some may have luck with it, but I will never again short cut the process of bio-diesel again.

If you want fuel cheaper then start making bio on your own with the proper method.

I have knocked this DSE product for more than two years and will continue to do so until either they go out of business, or I die. DSE is bad for any engine!
