Want to try 2 stroke but.....

I've been using diesel kleen in the white bottle since i picked up my truck in February. After doing all the reading about 2 stroke vs additives I want to try running some 2 stroke and see how my truck runs on it.

My question is should i run a few tanks w/o anything to get all of the diesel kleen through the system or can i add the 2 stroke at my next fill up???? I think i've already filled up twice w/o adding the DK.

Also, i haven't really been running it past a half tank b/c of fuel prices so how many gals does a stock tank not harpooned hold????? And how many gals can you put into the tank after the pump clicks off w/o the harpoon stuck in it??? I usually try to sneak another couple gals in, but i don't want to get a surpise diesel bath .

i would run 2stroke 1oz per gal of fuel and then DK every 8-10 tanks not mixing it with the 2stroke.. just my 2 cents.

you can add the 2stroke in at anytime. and i think the tanks hold 29 gallons if i remember right.

'04 6.0, 4.5" lift, straight piped, SCT tunes by Innovative Diesel, studded, coolant filter, EGR delete Tru track in the rear, sounds by JL audio some other odds and ends

i have short bed and mine is 29 as well..

I just said not to mix with DK because your trying to clean the system so i would think dk by it self would work better.

Bill your right , you wouldnt want to mix the two. i meant it could be added at anytime now since he said he hasnt put any DK in for the last two tanks. However if your getting clean fuel and using quality fuel filters and changing them often enough you shouldnt have anything for the DK to clean.

Short boxes are 29 gal and long boxed are 38 or 39 gal. I'm glad i dont have a long box cause diesel is like 4.30 a gal here and it would cost me a fortune to fill it up.

im only running .5oz per gallon as i still have all emissions in place.im almost through my 1st gal of 2 stroke and im gonna pull the egr and check it out.(was new when i started on the 2 stroke)but i can say that for me i didnt notice any big improvements for the first 2-3 tanks.then i steadily gained mileage and it started running quieter.my fuel pump even quieted down.i think the egr will tell the tale if its leaving deposits or not.i run the same fuel every time and im not gonna run any dk till after i check the egr to make sure its unbiased.so far im sold on 2 stroke but i want to see if theres any ill side effects also.
