Fuel Additive needed??

I own an 08 250 PS and am wondering if adding fuel additive to the 6.4L is neccessary or not. I have been seeing a lot of adds for Diesel Kleen and have a friend using it every fill up in a 07 Cummins. Is this something that would be beneficial since using ULSD or is just a waste of money. 2,000 miles on truck and runs great, tail pipe still looks like it did the day I picked it up (what a glorious day)! Any input would be nice or if anyone could recommend a better product in your opinion. Thanks in advance!

Hey bud, well personally I don't think it hurts to run an addative just because it further lubricates the motor. I ran Ford's cetane booster and performance addatives in the winter with every fill up. Now I just tried a bottle of amsoil cetane booster, and noticed a slight increase in mileage out of my last fill up. I just bought a case of Ford's performance addative for the rest of the year. I been averaging about 15mpg's overall which is much better than the 10.5 - 11 mpgs that I was getting when I brought the truck home. Guess it's a preference thing I would run something in it, but thats just me. Make sure it is Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel compatable before you add it to you fuel. Good luck.

2 stroke oil (ashless TC-W3) 1 oz. per gallon- there are threads all over this site about it- you'll be telling everybody about it after 10 miles..........

do Not Put Anything In Your 08.....especially 2 Cycle...it Will Kill Your Dpf...

The 08's were designed to run on ULSD...2 cycle will cause you nothing but problems.

2 cycle is only to be used in 07 and earlier!

Yea, you'll be telling everyone about the $5000.00 DPF you had to replace because you ran 2 stroke through it.....

Let me help out here... Since 2 cycle oil or any kind of lubricant is bad in a 2007+ model year trucks I can post a pic of the HFRR values so you can choose a proper additive...

WEO, WVO, and 2 cycle oil are NOT to be used in any 2007+ model year trucks! Beaware some trucks are limited to level of BIO Diesel usage. (Cummins less than B20)
