'97 F350 Crew Cab 7.3 $4000
'97 F350 Crew Cab XLT E4OD, 7.3 Powerstroke, 2 wheel drive, 4:10, limited slip, 215/85R16, Dually, dual fuel tanks, cloth seats, A/C, cruise, tilt, power windows and locks, 323,xxx miles.
I bought this truck from a local roofing contractor, it is the 3rd one I bought from this outfit, It has a ladder rack and 2 8' tool boxes. Now for the rough parts the rear fiberglass fenders have been banged up a little and poorly patched with fiberglass filler (a little sanding and paint would fix it) the tailgate is a little rough, the back of the bed has been enforced with angle iron, there is a bed liner so the bed should be O.K. The rear tires are barley legal, it will need new ones.
The best part about this truck is it is very clean, this truck was parked in a building, washed often and rarely used in the winter, The underside of the cab is totally rust free, the rocker panels are clean. The pickup bed is rust free also, the frame is rust free also. When I say rust free I mean no surface rust or anything, This truck still has the original brake lines, and they look as good as new. The under side is as nice as most '07 trucks.
The interior is very clean, no stains on the light blue cloth seats, the front seat is a bench (not buckets as most xlts have) seat with a fold down middle arm rest, the seat may be new or reupholstered, since it has no signs of were and is a less faded then the back seat. It has a factory AM/FM cassette radio that works as it should. The tilt steering column/transmission shift is tight and works well. All the windows and locks work as they should.
This truck runs and drives like new, it fires right up, the transmission shifts and reacts like it has a mild shift kit. I was told, "the transmission was replaced at about 290k with an updated towing tranny," The transmission oil was/is at the correct level and looks and smell good. The trans did not chatter or slip, and the torque converter dose not moan (as many do).
This truck has all new brakes, turned rear drums, new front rotors, new ball joints, radial arm bushing, 2 new tie rod ends, new front tires, and recent alignment, all of the aforementioned were done at the same time. In the last 50k miles the fuel pump, glow plugs, injectors (remans), injector harnesses (both sides), vacuum pump, master cylinder, water pump, starter, alternator, catalytic converter, were replaced.
The exhaust, and air intake are stock, when I got this truck the power steering fluid was low, I filled it up and have not seen a leak, yet.
These truck were very well maintained, I was going to keep this one as a spare, but if I can get $4,000 I will sell it, other wise i will keep it in case my other 3 trucks fail.
As time goes on the price may change as I set it up with my goodies, and mods. I will post pics soon, I hope
