Sound Proofing - Not for Faint of Heart

This was a difficult decision - but I am selling the sound proofing kit I have for a SuperDuty. This is EVERYTHING you need to do the entire interior of a crew cab truck - doors (inside and out), floor, ceiling, back, and under dash. This is NOT just "dynamat" or the equivalent. The kit consists of vibration dampening, mass sound dampening, closed cell foam for seperating the dampening from the vehicle. I can also include the 2 cans of expanding foam - or you can pick those up from Home Depot yourself. If you price this out, you will understand how much money you are saving. If you have questions - just ask.

I will NOT seperate.

48ft² Vibration Dampener
31.5ft² 1/8" CCF Dampener
90ft² 1/4" CCF Dampener
1 Quart Vinyl Cement
135ft² Mass Dampener
5 Linear Feet 2" wide velcro for installation

$900 plus shipping.

This is a custom kit that I had assembled that I was going to install in my truck that has an aerated block. I can provide all of the technical details for the material. It would be safe for you to assume that everything is rated for twice what the "commercial" variant is.

What brand are these? Can you provide links to each product? Also, where are you located?

I am located in Colorado. I had spec'd out the material based on what I was looking for rather than what it was intended for (repurposing). The material was acquired through my work connections and is not available on-line. Was there anything specific information you were looking for?

If anyone needs the technical data, let me know. Had a PM asking about how effective this would be... According to the Federal Highway Administration, road noise studies are required to measure ~50Hz to 10,000Hz. The mass dampener (alone) is tested to provide the following Noise Transmision Loss:

125Hz - 13dB
250Hz - 17dB
500Hz - 22dB
1000Hz - 27dB
2000Hz - 31dB
4000Hz - 36dB

I don't have data for everything used as a system - as I designed it. But if you are familiar with shooting range ear protection typically provides ~20-25dB Noise Reduction. You will be getting greater than 50% reduction in the spectrum that human ears are most sensitive too with just the mass dampener.

I assure you that you will be happy with the silence in your truck.

I forgot... I have enough PVC tubing for the door seal mod that will also be included.

I had some questions about the foam. Primarily why you would use 1/8" versus 1/4". Basically the 1/8" is for the door panels and the 1/4" is for everywhere else. With the dampener and then the foam, the door panels are quite a bit snugger. The 1/4" would make the door panels basically not fit. Thought I would take this opportunity to provide some additional information regarding the CCF...

Adhesive backed rated to -20degrees to 160degrees
10lbs per cubic foot
30% deflection at 5psi

This is not the cheap stuff that flattens the first time you put your carpet on over it. It holds it's shape and is used in a much more rugged environment than our trucks see.

Still available. I was reading the soundproofing thread going and realized I probably left off the most important technical detail regarding the mass layer for most guys out there...

The mass layer is a minimum 1.0lbs/sqft and 1/8" or ~125mils thick. It's actual weight is ~140-145/lbs.

Still available. Wife says until I get the truck back I have to continue to try to sell.

If no one wants to take a chance and sound proof their vehicle, I suppose I will when I get the truck in Dec/Jan.
