3208 genset
One of our customers just leased a facility with a 3208 genset. I inspected the unit and found fuel in the engine valley. No signs of fuel coming from the top of the fuel pump while running so I'm assuming that the fuel is leaking out of the bottom of the pump somewhere.
We're a small Cummins dealer and none of my techs feel too confident around Cats. Obviously, I don't want to hand this job off to the Cat distributor if I don't have to. How difficult would it be for me to pull the pump myself? Any procedural advice would be greatly appreciated.

What is the SN of the engine.
Its a pretty simple job but the SN will help me to put my hands on the right literature.

Wiggle the pump and see if it moves. 3208 pumps are notourious for coming lose at the bottom drivers rear mounting bolt and it breaks the ear of the rear housing. PUMP DOES NOT NEED REMOVED TO REPLACE THE REAR HOUSING. Also spray shaving cream around throttle shaft seal while running and see if it sucks it into the pump. If so (yes strange test but believe me it is nessecary) replace throttle shaft seal. One of the two...

Assuming the pump isn't leaking from either the throttle shaft seal or rear housing, where would it leak otherwise? And I've heard there is an installation kit of some sort. Is that true?

If it comes from the front and the bleeder hose came off it can be the bleed valve, transfer pump bleed hole, or inlet valve bleed. They all have clear plastic hose on em. Should be coming out the hose tho.

Dipaco Diesel Parts has a pump mounting kit DPE3208PM. They also have various overhaul kits as well.
