Detroit dd15 bluetec, experiences and opinions

Thinking about buying my first Detroit. Anyone have any experience with this one? It's a 515hp in a 2011 western star daycab. Has 290k on the miles. I guess my main question is any way to delete the crap that needs gone? My local mechanic has only had one in his shop, so he couldn't help much.

Deletes can be done by a good shop.

Though I'm hoping the rest of the engine is built stronger then the cams.

common problem with those engines is cylinder liner cracking.
it is just a poor construction, nothing you can really do about it.
