Nut in oil pan

I have a pete with 3406b. Went to change the oil and found a zinc colored 3/8 nut on the magnetic oil plug. Anyone have an idea where it came from. Thank you

Like Cody said, is it fine thread? The only places I can think of is a bridge adjusting not, rocker nut or Jake lash nut. The only coarse nuts are on the compressor idler gear and a couple on the front inner cover.
