1995 Kenworth T800
Shrink hose clamps
I just had a hose clamp on my 06 IH 4300 come loose. I lost a lot of coolant really fast and overheated the engine. The clamps are goofy shrink clamp. Can't tighten, you have to cut them off and replace. Good thing I was 1/4 mile from my shop. Zip disc on my die grinder worked well. It was a tight fit but I was able to cut it off. If anyone else has some age on their clamps keep a close eye on them. My rad hose was a bit swollen so it was replaced.

I have them on a few of my small silicone hoses like coolant filter and maybe a couple of heater hoses that are either hard to clamp coventionally or hard to get to. Knock on wood, so far so good. they are Gates.
