Extending the frame

Can the frame on a S1900 IH be extended and the axle moved back without losing gvwr?

I would say that depends on who is judging it. - Legally that is. Technically, if done properly, you should be able to take the weight before the modification and subtract it from the weight after modification then take that number and subtract it from gross vehicle cargo weight to find the new gross vehicle CARGO weight. SSo, if it had say a gvcw of 40k before the mods and you added 700lbs to vehicle in stretching it your new weight would be 37,300. This is all just my opinion off the top of my head so take it for what it is worth. I doubt the law would ever go to much length to prove a difference from what it is sticker rated at unless it caused a major accident where loss of life or limb were involved, in which case the lawyers are gonna find an infraction or 12 anyway..

Good, a couple soft 1/4" bolts, some bed frame, and away we go!

It would be easier if you use that pre-drilled angle 😜

Good idea! Bed frame is hard to drill.
