C-model turbo.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if an OR7087 is a worth while turbo for a C model. It is a waste gate turbo and mine is not. Just checking to see if it would be an upgrade or not. Thanks.

Tony, or anyone else I'm sort of lost here are you saying the 7087 and the 199119 are the same? Just wondering because I have a good 7087 but thought I wanted a 199119, don't want to spend money I can't afford right now.

Well, I looked it all up myself instead of re-posting a quote. Hell no they aren't. First off, the 119 has no wastegate. The list goes like this:

1st) 0R6936 = 1243031 for 8PN1 and up waste gated.
2nd) 0R6985 = 1312427 for 8PN 00195 and up
3rd) 0R7087 = 1169581 for 3ZJ (late) and up thru 8PN.

All are the same thing, as in a Garrett BTV7504 waste gater. A 119 would work, but won't get the quick spool etc...

Thanks Tony, I'm running a 7fb and swapped the original turbo with a friends or7087, I blocked the waste gate and can pull a solid 35lb and ocassional 37lb boost. This turbo doesn't impress me alot but seems to do fair if I keep the R's at 17 or above. I'm wanting to get another turbo and I thought 199119 now I'm hearing about the 198123 ( I know of a good price on one, lol ) which will work best for me, thanks in advance, Lynn

The novice begins to grasp (faintly) that there is a difference between a truck driver and a steering wheel holder. I'd always thought the gauge was neat...never understood before that it was there for a purpose and some drivers watched it so carefully.

The gauges have a reason and purpose being there. The truck i have has 20 gauges and i want to add a couple more (fuel pressure, etc).
