Auction Sites for Donor Vehicles

Here are a few sites I've found for insurance salvage vehicle auctions. I intend to buy my donor vehicle for my diesel swap from one of these.

Some of them require registration, and/or fees to actually bid, but most of them at least let you see some inventory before you commit.

DoveBid Mostly industrial salvage and overstock/liquidation. Good source for box vans with Cummins 4BT's

Salvage Direct Search. Mix of autos, motorcycles, and some light/medium duty commercial stuff.

Salvage Auto Search. Seems to be fairly sparse, and most of the vehicles I've seen have mechanical issues, so probably wouldn't make a great donor. Site is a bit clunky, and pictures are usually lacking.

IAA Search. This looks like it's probably the "main" registry of vehicles, definitely have to register to bid here, but there seem to be lots of available vehicles.

Yes, I drive a gasser, but I'm compiling information, and hopefully soon, parts, to swap in an Isuzu I4. Black smoke, here I come! :weld:

Nice list cherrybomb, I am reg. at dovebid and I probably will be at the ones you reccomended so I can find my 4bt.

I have also found that on Dovebid, the contact info at the bottom of the description is right-on. I have my regional Doritos service manager's cell # on my phone, nice guy--says he can hook me up, just to avoid the Dovebid charges for his company:Thumbup:

hey guys,

In reference to salvage direct listed above. I work for my uncle and he actually owns one of the lots that the cars are stored at. It is the Harrisburg, PA location on the web-site. If anyone here or one of your friend would like to get signed up to buy and has either a dealer or salvage license. Feel free to call me directly at 717-644-3737 and i can get you guys signed up for free. If anyone is interested just go ahead and call me or send me an email.

thank you,

Grant Adams
