Emissions?

For those of you in the "Green" states or anyone that has knowledge on the subject. While doing a conversion has been discussed, and the up and comming issues of emissions in sight a slight techinical quesiton came to mind.

How do I put this. '07 was one of the emission standard years correct? And both an '06 built SD and '05-06 DCTD were designed to meet the '07 emissions standard?

So putting an '05 CTD into an '06 SD, they would both be equiped to the same emissions standard. IE: it would be considered still emissions compliant? With a Cat in place.

Man...that is one way to a qeustion.

No.

The EPA 2005 DCTD and the EPA 2007 DCTD do NOT meet the same emissions standards. ALL EPA 2007 Diesels have a DPF, no (factory) pre-2007 applications do to my knowledge.

The same is true for the differences between the 2005 and 2007 PSD engine in the SDs (Ford Super Duty ??) or were you asking about Dodge?

Should have clarified that. My truck is a 2006 build, sold as an 07. Pre-DPF.

Well no luck finding it. Do you remember anything specific about it? Cover truck or anyting. Found plenty on the differences between the 6.7 and 5.9.
