'05/'06 Cummins from a Freightliner for engine swap?
I am posting this here because I have yet to receive any help/ideas from the other places I have it posted. I bought a box van that has a Freightliner chassie under it. I plan on using the engine and transmission (Allison 1000) for repowering a truck. I plan on putting a set of twins on it for towing and maybe even duel cp3's. I would almost bet money that the ecm that is currently on this truck will not work with Dodge programmers. Can anyone confirm this? It doesn't have an OBDII port but a round connector instead. Can I replace this connector with an OBDII connector? Can I have the ecm reflashed with Dodge program or do I have to buy a Dodge ecm? Also does the Allison tcm talk to the engine ecm? Can I still use the stock Allison tcm or do i need to get the stand alone controler? Is there other things I need to look into when swapping over to dodge electronics?
My trucks:
2007.5 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad-cab, Long Horn Edition, 6.7 Cummins, 6spd auto, 4x4, 4" lift and 33's. No Dpf, not Egr, dual exhaust, and a Xrt with the 175hp tune.
2000 Ford F-550 Crew-cab, XLT, 7.3 Powerstroke, 4spd auto, 4x4. Gearing up for a '08 6.7 Cummins common rail & Allison 1000 swap.
1997 Ford F-250HD Extended-cab, XLT, 7.3 Powerstroke, 4spd auto, 4x4. P-pump Powerstroke sled puller project. (In progress)

I don't know all the answers to your questions, but SonCoast does make, or has a stand aloe for the Allison, to use behind a Cummins.
I am sure the PCM is not the same as a Dodge Truck.

If its an 06 motor you may have problems with the electronics. I know on the dodges they have a coded key and causes problems with wireing it up infact I was told by both Autoworld and Beans to stay away from the 2006 motors. Maybe the frieghtliner motors are different

Call Scott at Destroked. They've got a complete stand alone controller for the Allison and all the other parts you'd need for a conversion. Good people!!!
