Does anyone know of someone putting a diesel in an F-150, like maybe a 1999 or something?

Don't know of one, but if you have the time, the knowledge, the desire, and the money I'm certain it could be accomplished.

Easiest would be something like a 4BT or other small diesel.

I was going to do a swap with a 99 F250, but that project fizzled out.

yeah I have seen it

There is this family that puts perkins and other small tractor diesels in f-150. They don't tell you the details, you have to buy a book from them. They do require the truck to be manual and they will do the work for you or you can buy one they have finished.I'll try to find the site.Come to think of it I believe they was on youtube also. Is anyone considering the babystroke? The 4.5 would still make an awesome half ton diesel. There has to be some out there now that are available?

Those 1992-1996 F-150s are a lot different than the 1997-2003 F-150s. The electronics is going to be a nightmare, especially on a 1999-2003 model due to the PATS system. If you're not planning on using any of the factory gauges, it'd be a lot easier.

PATS is no problem at all, that feature is one of the ECM, and when you add a diesel, you don't have an ECM any more (like you HAD, if one at all).

The 4.5L V-6 would be a nice conversion but a 4BT would be nicer and a LOT less costly.
