Dt 466 Conversion Part II

We decided to take the torch from Kaman (Strokerin) with the 466 conversion and run with it. Plans are to set the 466 in the frame of an 04 F-350 then place a 77 body on top of that with some nice paint and interior work. Power will be sent through a 545 Alison to a Dana 80 rearend. Should be fun. Here are some pics to get the this project thread rolling. Picked up this 77 F100 for $500. Hardly any rust.

Sounds great. Can't wait to see pics and vids. Boy you guys sure know how to make a guy jealous. Damn, if I only had money. I am crossing my fingers, but I might be getting a 1066 IH with a DT466. She is good runner. I have had my sights on this for some time. But if I get that, I will flushed out of $$$$.

That's a great torch to pass! Those Dentside Fords are really cheap these days. Is it going to stay a 2 wheel drive? What are you going to do with the truck? sled pull? tow? play?

Gotta be a 4x4. Daily driver/sled puller is the goal.

Hey guys, new to this site. I've also been watching Strokerin's progress for over a year. Please post pics as you go, should be a great conversion. I'll do the same, I've got a 1970 DT466 w/Allison in super HD framerails from old cabover semi, going to drop a Chev body over it all and have plenty of suspension under it. My main worries were the ifs taking the weight in the Chev 3500, and the framerails supporting the torque. Would like to use the Dana 70 from the body donor, but not sure if a Dana 60 front can take the weight? I'm sure you guys know better than me. I don't want anything breaking on the freeway. On the bad side, the semi chassis might make it a really rough ride. I hope not. I'll check in soon and see how yours is going. Mine is technically still two seperate trucks as of today... Until it's 4wd, a dually riding on 22.5's will be acceptably cool I think.

Hey Overbuilt, is the "just south of portland" meaning Woodburn, or smaller? I grew up in Albany...better known as the stinky town on I5 between Salem and Eugene.
I thought the DT466 came out in 1975. Was your 70 a transplant?

I see the shipper changed some things up since I dropped it off. I hope everything on it is okay.

That they did. The idiots ran a band strap over the fuel lines Fuel lines and a little pump work and it should be fine. We went Friday to pick up a Dt466 that is literally a clone of the one we bought from you to put in a truck with a blown motor. We will be able to get the parts we need hopefully from that blown motor and hopefully have an extra pump on our hands
